April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Through our weCARE program, NBSIA partners with our members to bring information and resources to prevent child sexual abuse and protect students. Members have access to free training for staff and volunteers through our partners, Praesidium and Vector Solutions. Click here for information on how to access this training.

New for 2022

  • Praesidium has created the website PreventAbuse.com to share research and free resources with parents and caregivers to educate on and prevent child sexual abuse. Resources are age-appropriate and developed with several respected organizations dedicated to abuse prevention. Members are encouraged to check it out and consider adding a link to your district/COE websites.
  • Five Days of Action is a week within Child Abuse Prevention Month designed to raise awareness and inspire adults to take action to protect children from sexual abuse. The site has a variety of resources on topics like staying safe online, identifying signs of abuse, and how to be an active bystander to protect children in need.

Links for both sites are posted on our weCARE page.

Thank you for helping to protect students!
